convert txt file to excel?

I think I might be embarrassed even asking this.
I saved a data file off the internet and it is now in Notepad in a .txt file
How can I convert this to and excel file?
There are about 12 columns, mixted with names, dates and numbers.
Please tell me click by click.
Oh, by the way, I've picked up so much from this forum.
