It sounds like you have another instance of Excel or Word still running
in your background processes. Open your task manager and view your
current processes to see if you see any other Excel.exe or WinWord.exe
running. If so, kill the process and try to reopen the document. Does
this only occur with one particular document or all documents of the
same type?
