I am now having the same problem as before (as Rodney, I assume), except intermittantly --- that is, sometimes the file opens correctly and sometimes not. I created the final version of a 5mb file that I've worked on for months. Now it opens only sometimes, and I sent it to someone by email and he can't open it at all. What we get is the dreaded application error, must close, "recover" screen. The shortening of the name is not working anymore. As for the "..../regserver " command, I can get "run" to open excel if I use that command, but if I add the "/regserver" the next screen to appear is one that says it cannot find "C:\programs". What is "regserver" supposed to do, and is it a one time fix?
Thanks, JZ
