    Hello,

Using Excel 2000 (9.0.6926 SP3) I receive the error message "Unable to read file" when clicking "yes" to update links to another workbook (source file to retrieve client data).

We have been using these Excel workbooks for a few weeks now and there have been no modifications.
File 1 (source file which contains the origianal client data) = 6.72 Mb
File 2 (file that we are opening and that cannot read File 1) = 2.41 Mb

The error message started this week and doesn't happen all the time. Another funny thing is that if I open File 1 first then open File 2, no error appears and the linking works great.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks
    Ruan
