In that case, go for the .net platform. =:o)

That leaves asp.net out of the question. I think we only have a normal .net
win forms application left. I think I would have gone for C# win forms
applications (so your users don't have to install any J# runtime redists).
If you don't rely on any fancy libraries or old COM stuff, you can run
everything from the Cd.
