Again I really don't think you can see or want to see
what is really at the heart of the issue here.
Demo's that only look at one scenario fail to take
in the overall developer task for complex applications
that takes months to write.

Exactly. The larger, the better - to suppress the
"ambient-noise" more.

You probably know this, but you're really dealing
with a moving target here. Tom S. has offered to
do this sort of test numerous times in the past, as part
of his "competition" with VB. The demos never show
up. Likewise with the others. Maybe it worked on the
German groups, but it always seems to be the same thing
with the DotNet evangelist gang here. They're not
interested in exploring or learning or teaching. If you
make a point they just respond by answering a *different*
point which is easier to rebut. (You say the sky is blue
and they'll say, "No, clouds are white or gray!" You say,
"Yes, but the sky itself appears blue" and they'll say
"What's wrong with blue?". And so on. You might just as
well argue with Born-Again Christians.

Evangelism is an indicator of lack of faith, whether it's
pseudo-Christianity or The Church of DotNet. The evangelist
is only trying to convince him- or her- self. The evangelism
victim is merely someone who happened by, hijacked for
use as a "mirror". The arguments *appear* to be conceptual
but are really outbursts of emotional hunger in logic's clothing.

I suppose the interesting lesson here is the fact that
there are evangelists at all for a programming tool! It's
indicative of a contradiction between what the .Net product
is and what some of its users want to believe it to be.
