VB 6 + VMWare workstation + mapped drive = "error in loading dll"

i'm just logging this issue here so if anyone else finds the same they
know what to do:

-I'm running VB6 on a VMWare machine (tried both 2003 and XP)
-the project is located on a mapped drive
-the share that the mapped drive is pointing to is a VMWare 'shared
folder' on the host machine (real PC)

when building the DLL i would get a "error in loading dll" error

and nothing fixes it except copying the project to a local drive on
the VMWare machine..

i hope you won't spend as much time figuring this one out as i did :)
