Re: Visual Basic to be discontinued in 2008??

On the first point: No thanks.

On the second: They are not going to kill VB.Net.
And if they did, I'd just go work on something else,
like C#. Whining about my circumstances is rarely
profitable.

shove it up your ass, bitch

VB.net is dead; it's been discontinued.

They're supposed to make an announcement any day now.

But you see, that's 2 opinions one way, and hundreds of opinions
the other way. None of the rest of us agree with you. The
thousands of VB.Net programmers around the world don't agree
with you. Thousands of companies that are implementing .Net
don't agree with you. I know you don't want to consider it,
but maybe you're wrong.

And even if you're not, it doesn't do you any good to be bitter;
there's nothing you can do to change it. You can continue to be
angry and not do .Net, and that's fine, but that doesn't mean
that's the right thing for everybody else in the universe.

I'll give you one point for this -- Aaron's language and
abuse completely overshadow any message or opinion he may
offer. All people see is the language and abuse, and it
immediately negates anything he has to say. At least
you're not abusive, and you don't use profanity (or not
that I've noticed as of yet).

I think that Aaaron is making a valuable contribution here. Its good
for new programmers to be able to read threads like this one so that
they can make an educated decision before learning / choosing a new
language. They need to be able to understand the flaws and misgiving
of the current VB product (which actualy isn't real VB actually but a
very poor quality imitator).

If we can help just a few new programmers to understanding the truth
(that VB is not longer good - and will be discontined soon), then I
don't mind spending a little time advising and helping them. When I
learned to program I relied upon news groups to help me, so I think
that its only fair to help new programmers now myself. We need to
point them in the right directon (away from Microsoft Visual Basic -
because it's no longer any use)

Why don't you do that then, and move your abusive self out of
this newsgroup? You're acting worse than the company you
continue to deride to a bunch of people who are just trying
to get a little help getting their jobs done.

all
of us to move to PHP

I guess that my expectations are pretty high when someone uses the

An friend insider told me that VB is to be killled off within 18
months. I guess this makes sence now that C# is here. I believe
it
and
am actualy surprised they ever even included it in VS 2003 in the
first place. Anyone else heard about this development?
