The only possible exceptions are games - Doom.Net anyone? <shudder /> -
where you may need to switch to a known resolution.

I good game does that not need anymore, I see a lot of those.

If an organisation insists on a standard screen resolution, then there is
/no need/ for any application to change it - it should already be set the
way it's supposed to be.

But you cannot easy protect that. However as said I find it a real strange
organisation who tells there employees how height their chair (which is
changable) has to be. To give an anology.
