Custom Membership Provider

I am using a Custom Membership Provider for a web site. I am using ASP.Net
2 and VB. I have some code in the Initialize event of my Membership
Provider but this procedure does not fire when the application starts. The
validate user and create user work fine though. Any help would be
appreciated.
