Standard keyboard via serial port?

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Anyone have any suggestions on reading a regular ps/2 keyboard (scan set 2)
via the serial port. I can't use the regular keyboard port for this
particular application because I need the full "make and break" string.
LIke 76 F0 76 for the escape key, the most can get out of windows keycode
is just the 76.

The reason for needing this is because I'm upgrading a robotic keyboard
tester, has 128 pneumatic plungers arranged to hit the keys. Needs 128 to
test the old AS/400,3270,5250 type of keyboards as well as generic 104/105
key windows keyboards.

Can drive the plungers fine in vb.net via the Par port and some decoding
circuits, but getting the feedback is being a hassle.

btw the current test runs on an IBM XT under Dos 3.1 with custom interface
cards written in APL or ADM or something ancient, 1984 was when they were
built. Got 12 of em to replace. Yes, I work in a keyboard manufacturing
factory.

Any suggestions appreciated
Dan
