I am in the process of developing my first C# 2008 / ASP.NET 3.5 web
application that uses SQL Server 2005. I am looking for some guideance on the
steps I must take to deploy my web application as an Intranet web application
using IIS 7. I have been testing my web application using the Visual Studio
2008 built in web server so far.
I'd like to get my web application moved into IIS 7 so that I can deploy it
via our Intranet. I'm looking for some guideance on where to start in the
process from the most basic setup to more advanced features that will help
protect the web application. My first goal is to get my Beta version running
via IIS 7.
Can anyone recommend web-sites that would be good starting points for
getting my web application deployed via IIS 7? I'm looking for Internet
references as well as Books that are good starting points for someone new to
IIS.
Some of the tasks I'd like to understand more about are:
1. Building the Web Application (Currently Projectless)
2. Web Application Deployment to IIS
3. Security Considerations (Windows Authentication)
4. Establishing an Internal Intranet URL.
One I have successfully deployed my web application to IIS for our Intranet
I'd like to extend this knowledge to deploying an Internet web application
next.
Any pointers and where to start would be greatly appreciated.
