Hi all,
reading all these replies, I have noticed that not man y are actually able to grasp this question in its entirety.
The point being missed by most (although observed by a few) is this....
I have a string with me and I want to know if it represents a valid file name or a directory name. Hoever, even before that, I need to validate that string by assertig that this given damn string is indeed a potentially valid one (for File as well as for Directory).
I don't have an answer to it. In fact, I was looking an answer to this very same point that I make above.
