So what's the problem? Did you try using the Rtf property to initialize the control with pre-formatted text? Just how much time are we talking about here? My experience has been that on a fast computer, control initializations/interactions are practically instant. What kind of delay are you running into and why is it such a big deal?
It would really help if you could be a little more specific and objective about the exact behavior you're seeing and what you'd like instead.
