It is. I specified it under my ServiceInstaller options in the IDE and I
confirm it is Automatic when i went into services.msc and clicked
properties
on my service.

Hmm - OK. So it doesn't start automatically at boot time even though it's
set to, and you can start it manually...

Are there any related entries in your EventLog?

Does it maybe have dependencies on other services...?
