Re: Trick to installing .net 2.0?

There are so many things that can go wrong. There are millions of hardware combinations and dito drivers on the globe and Microsoft can't possible guarantee that their products will work on every possible imaginable configuration. Off course what Microsoft could do is release 5 computers and call them iWindows and Micbook and heavily test their software on these 5 different hardware configurations.

Therefore instead of flaming Microsoft how about you post the exact error message or an excerpt of the installationg log so that we can help you solve your problem as good as possible?

Hi

My software requires .net 2.0, as always good old MS STILL hasn't put this on the essential download so it doesn't go through with an automatic update. Cleary they have a lot of faith in their own work!

Sorry that rant over, i have an issue where clients are downloading .net 2.0, installing it and STILL it ays it is not installe don their machine? Is there a trick to ensuring it installs? Or anything i can do to ensure it gets on their machine? My software installs over the web via click once.

Thanks
I was having the same problem recently. My OS is xp-64 pro so I thought that might be the problem. I just kept reinstalling it until it fianlly took. It took about 3 tries.
