Win service installation. Please help

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I cannot for the life of me figure out the installation of a windows
service.

Followed this guy's example to a T which is not very complicated. One
is to execute

installutil myservice.exe

http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/2/window_service.asp

Installed without an error message, but it does not show up in the list
of services. Tried it on my XP machine as well as Server 2000.

Please help.
