I have tried multiple times to get this computer onto my home network, but
cannot succeed. I have internet access through the network but when i look
at the computers in the workgroup i get nothing. I'm not even sure i'm doing
it right. Can anyone help me out?

You need to post to the correct NG/forum based on the operating system you are using, like MS.public.windows.xp.general.

The is a programmer's newsgroup/forum you're posting to for help.
