Hello Al,
Thanks very much for your feedback. We are investigating user experience in
support.microsoft.com and doing our best to improve it.
After reviewing the issue thread, I understand that the main concern is the
experience in the Microsoft connect web site. You feel it is hard to fill
out suggestion in the current layout. Please correct me if I misunderstood
any here.
For this feedback, I will help forward to our web team.
For your and other community member's convenience, I included the product
feedback information here:
Where to submit suggestion or product issue?
Please check it at:
http://connect.microsoft.com/Main/content/content.aspx?ContentID=2220
Microsoft moved the feedback at the Product Feedback Center (PFC) to
Connect. We made this change so our systems can grow and scale with the
increase of customers and feedback we see from the PFC.
You may submit visual studio related suggestions at
http://connect.microsoft.com/site/sitehome.aspx?SiteID=210 directly.
The other question is about "Visual Studio forums":
1) They are not included in MSDN managed newsgroups
Currently we only support MSDN customers in the newsgroup platform. For
forum system, our support team is working actively with product team on it.
You can see many members from product team are answering questions in the
forum already. Our support team will also join it in the near feature. We
will provide pointer for answers in the forum for all participants.
2) Forum can't be accessed behind some of your client's firewall.
I am not sure of the reason of it yet. Basically forum is only a web
application and should be able to accessed by any web browser. Currently it
uses passport ID for log in. If the problem happens consistently, you may
check with client's IT admin to see whether they have any limitations
there. You may also post a sceenshot here. I am happy to forward it to our
forum dev team to see whether they have more idea on it.
If you feel there is any we can do here, please feel free to post back.
Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Yanhong Huang
