Building an Integrated Desktop Application: The Integrated Desktop provides
the plumbing to bring together

multiple applications in a single user interface. It is a loosely coupled
hosting architecture and composite UI

that runs on the desktop and is supported by a loosely coupled architecture
on the back end.

The Composite UI Application Block (CAB) provides the foundation for
building an Integrated Desktop and the Smart

Client Software Factory provides implementation guidance consistency. In
this session we'll cover the basics of

developing with CAB and build a working integrated desktop sample.

Mike Vincent is a Software Architect with LendingTree focusing on Microsoft
..NET technology. He founded and leads

both the Orange County C# Developers Group and SoCal .NET Architecture user
group. Mike has made dozens of local

and regional user group presentations.

Exception Handling: Are you handling exceptions or are they handling you?
The reality is that most developers do

not have an exception handling strategy. In this session we will discuss,
develop and implement such a strategy

from the ground up. We will cover exception bubbling, security, custom
exceptions, the Enterprise Library, as

well as many other exception-related topics.

Security: How secure are your applications? Are you sure? In this session we
will discuss securing your

applications, following the ‘Defense in Depth’ principles. We will cover
authentication, authorization,

cryptography, input validation, as well as many other topics that will help
you sleep at night.
