Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Please, can anyone help me...
I have problem with VisualStudio.NET instalation:
First step is OK (framework...), but when instalation of .NET begin,
after some time I get message "INSTALATION FAILED" and log with:

[09/01/05,11:40:25] setup.exe: [2] ISetupComponent::Pre/Post/Install()
failed in ISetupManager::InstallManagerHelper()
[09/01/05,11:40:25] setup.exe: [2] Component error string not specified
in ISetupManager::AddToActionResultCollection()

and another log with lots of lines:

[09/01/05,10:38:44] vs70uimgr: Entering ShowSmallProgress() method.
[09/01/05,10:38:44] Setup.exe: IsRunningUnattended
.....

>>From about year ago I have problem also with MSDN of VS6 - I suppose
that these two things are connected? Problem is that when I open some
subject I get text page without links ("see also", "examples"...) -
unopened links!?

I've found answer on MS site:

"When you install Microsoft Visual Studio .NET on your computer, you
may receive the following error message:
Setup Failed
CAUSE
Your user account and the SYSTEM user account do not have the Full
Control user right on the %WINDIR%\Microsoft.NET folder.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, grant the Full Control user right to your user
account and to the SYSTEM user account, and then install Visual Studio
..NET. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Locate and then right-click the %WINDIR%\Microsoft.NET folder on
your computer. The Microsoft.NET Properties dialog box appears.
2. On the Security tab, click to select the Full Control check box for
your user account and the Full Control check box for the SYSTEM user
account. The Full Control check box is located under Allow in the
Permissions section.
3. Click OK.
4. Install Visual Studio .NET on your computer."

.... but there is no security tab on property of Microsoft.NET folder !?

I've menaged to get security tab, and folowed instructions, but still
have a same problem! (I have declared full control for administrator,
power users and users, but I can't do it for "creator owner" ?)
Also, I've instaled new MDAC 2.8 (because I've found somwhere that this
may be also a problem), and still nothing - I CAN'T INSTALL VS.NET !!!

I've tryed everything I had on my mind, but without sucess!

PLEASE HELP !!!
Thank You in advance!
