I don't see any point in having both c# and vb.net.
I think it was a marketing issue for Microsoft, they were scared that people
wouldn't switch over to a whole new language.
Either way you're switching to a new language so they should have had the
courage of their conviction and created a single language.
All they are doing is trying to con managers that we are just moving to the
next version of c++ and the next version of VB and it won't cause any
disruption.
They could have used the time they saved to improve the rubbish visual
studio...
