Dan,
Not to quibble about 2000/XP being required for .NET but right now most of
my .NET software is binary compatible and runs completely unchanged on Mono
equipped Linux systems and on Mac OSX Panther systems. Also much of the
software I have written for PocketPC runs unchanged on Linux, Mac and Windows
systems.
