Hi Nick. (This is supposed to be a reply to Nick's suggestion, but I'm not sure the newsgroup mechanism will display it that way.)

Well, my colleague gets the same result. His machine has been around for years, and has been upgraded several times. Mine is a pristine Windows XP Pro environment. I don't think the installation is at fault.

I found a Microsoft article about the problem. They call the article "Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 305980."
