Validation Summary on asp.net on Server 2003

Im trying to use the validationsummary command in .net 1.1.
The page works fine when i run the pages on a IIS on a Windows 2000 machine,
i/e I get a box popping up telling me of required fields i've missed.
When I put the same pages onto 2003 server, the pages fail to validate. I've
installed the Service Pack for .Net Framework 1.1 as this stated that there
was an error with the original program but i still fail to get any validation.
Does anyone know of anything else I need to do to get this to work?
