thanks, since i have no firewall running now or when i installed frameworks,
i suspect that is the port filtering you spoke of. i have installed all the
security patches ect at windows update so couuld those be the cause? i get
the impression that somthing got changed when framwork was installed. i'm
tempted to just wipe the drive and reinstall the system. its a fresh install
so not much will be lost.
