For example, your requirement to enable the user to drag controls from one container into another, and presumably visibly over the top of other controls in the process, makes Labels unsuitable for the task because Labels are lightweight "VB drawn" controls and they cannot be positioned on top of standard windowed controls unless they are actually "contained within" such a control, which in turn means that they cannot be dragged out of it. ... You can continue to use Labels and then whenever the user clicks a Label your code can hide the Label and temporarily replace it with a PictureBox which has been made to look just the same as the Label it is temporarily replacing. ...
