DateTimePicker Background Color in Vista

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

I have previously used this fix for making the background color of a DateTimePicker work:

This fix does not work in Windows Vista and this is causing me problems. Does anyone have any suggestions what I can do to make this work in Vista as well as prior OS's?
