WSE3 and Amazon EC3

I posted this question on the Amazon forums but am not getting the answer.
From Amazon I have downloaded two files for a generated X.509 certificate.
cert-*.pem - certificate file
pk-*.pem - private key

The cert file imports correctly but the WSE app doesn't run because the cert
doesn't contain the private key. I assumed that this is the pk* file, but
it doesn't import. Not a valid file.
Since others are using Amazon with WSE I assume that I am doing something
wrong.

Can anyone help? I would appreciate any help.
