    I just ran into a similar problem. It was a permission issue on the web
    server. I ran the permissions wizard (IIS - Right click on the web - All
    Tasks - Permissions Wizard) to reset all the permission for the site. Then I
    had to add the IUSR_MachineName account back to the directory and enable
    script source access and read access to the site. I also enabled scripts to
    run on the Home Directory tab in IIS.

    I hope this helps, a lot of the things I found on these newsgroups suggested
    reinstalling everything from IIS to the whole OS - OVERKILL.
