Hello Johnny.

I am sorry to hear that you are having problems running Office 2003 and
Visual Studio .NET. While I am not in a position to help you debug your
problems with these applications, you did make at least statement which I
may be able to help you clarify.

You mentioned that you are still called to update .NET Framework 1.0 even
though you have already installed .NET Framework 1.1 SP1. This is correct
behavior. Unlike many applications, the .NET Framework 1.1 does not
replace .NET Framework 1.0. Instead, the two frameworks co-exist
side-by-side on your computer. This is to help maintain compatibility with
applications which require the .NET Framework 1.0.

Because both frameworks are active on your computer, we strongly encourage
you to update both to the current service pack level. For .NET Framework
1.0, this is Service Pack 3; for .NET Framework 1.1, this is Service Pack
1. While I have no way of knowing whether this will help resolve the
issues you are having running Office 2003 and Visual Studio .NET, updating
to .NET Framework 1.0 SP3 will address each of the .NET Framework 1.0
issues described in this KB article:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=867461.

Hope this helps!

Best wishes.
 -Blair.
