I am seeing my remoting app fail with this error when I use ilmerge to repackage the exe and dlls as one exe. The app runs properly when I don't merge it. And except for the remoting part, the single exe version works ok.

Does the server/client use the same packed exe?

No they are completely different, the server is a service and the client is a console app.
