Hi,
The application I am running is a .NET Framework 1.1 Windows Service which
acts as a Remoting host
and the actual business components are within COM+.
The application server is same as the Database Server with SQL Server 2000
running on the same machine.
I am monitoring the memory usage for the Windows Service, DLLHOST(COM+) and
the SQLServer.
I am observing that the memory usage for Windows Service and DLLHOST
decreases as well as increases.
In case of SQL Server the memory usage keeps on increasing. I found out that
this is by design and SQL Server
keeps on increasing memory as long as there is free memory. I have seen it
grow to 800MB-1GB by the end of the week.
I need recommendation if this is the optimal way of running SQL Server or
should I set the "Use Fixed Memory Size"
option ?
Thanks and Regards,
Vikram
