RE: XBAP: zombie of PresentationHost.exe

Hi Linda,
I tried a new box with reinstalled XP SP3, this problem doesn't happen
with
IE6, IE7 and IE8, but it happens with Firefox 3.0.4, I did remote debug on
that one with FireFox 3.0.4, when I stop everything and the program was
hanging
here, following are the stack:
> ntdll.dll!KiFastSystemCallRet()
[Frames below may be incorrect and/or missing, no symbols loaded for
ntdll.dll]
ntdll.dll!NtWaitForMultipleObjects() + 0xc bytes

rpcrt4.dll!IUnknown_Release_Proxy() + 0x13 bytes
PresentationHostDLL.dll!CreateIDispatchSTAForwarder() + 0x1cd6 bytes

When I press F5 let program go, it will hang, and every time I break into,
the function stack will be the same as above.

Any further advise are appreciated.

Best Regards
Steven

Hi Steven,

Thank you for your reply and more information!

I perform some tests in both IE7 and IE8 Beta2 using the URL you provide,
i.e. www.xeeme.mobi/xweb/index.aspx, but still couldn't reproduce the
problem on my side.

In my tests, the PresentationHost.exe always disappears from the Task
Manager after I modify the text in the Title field and then close the
browser(either IE7 or IE8 beta2).

Since I couldn' t reproduce the problem on my side, I advice you to perform
tests on another machine to see if the problem still exists.

Sincerely,
Linda Liu
