Re: Property sheet on x64 causes System.AccessViolationException

Good morning, Jim and Willy,

Jim, I am glad to see the issue itself has been resolved with Willy's help
and your own researches. For your questions to Willy about "The union
contains a pointer to a string, that means ¡", below is the definition of
the struct in PRSHT.H:

typedef struct _PROPSHEETHEADERW {
DWORD dwSize;
DWORD dwFlags;
HWND hwndParent;
HINSTANCE hInstance;
union {
HICON hIcon;
LPCWSTR pszIcon;
}DUMMYUNIONNAME;
LPCWSTR pszCaption;

UINT nPages;
union {
UINT nStartPage;
LPCWSTR pStartPage;
}DUMMYUNIONNAME2;
union {
LPCPROPSHEETPAGEW ppsp;
HPROPSHEETPAGE FAR *phpage;
}DUMMYUNIONNAME3;
PFNPROPSHEETCALLBACK pfnCallback;

#if (_WIN32_IE >= 0x0400)
union {
HBITMAP hbmWatermark;
LPCWSTR pszbmWatermark;
} DUMMYUNIONNAME4;
HPALETTE hplWatermark;
union {
HBITMAP hbmHeader;
LPCWSTR pszbmHeader;
} DUMMYUNIONNAME5;
#endif
} PROPSHEETHEADERW, FAR *LPPROPSHEETHEADERW;
typedef const PROPSHEETHEADERW FAR *LPCPROPSHEETHEADERW;

Willy meant the union by
union {
UINT nStartPage;
LPCWSTR pStartPage;
}DUMMYUNIONNAME2;

where LPCWSTR is a WCHAR pointer sized 8 in x64. That's why "it must be
aligned at a multiple of 8 and must be of type pointer". Yes, it's much
easier when we can compile a little VCPP code to check things. :-)

Let me know if you have any other concerns or questions.
