Scanning type on the Symbol MK2000 Micro Kiosk

Hello,
I'm developping an application on a Symbol MK2000 Micro Kiosk, with C#
..NET and the compact framework. My post, however, concerns more the
Symbol SMDK for .NET.
I would like to set the scan type directly in my code in C#. I have
found some code samples on the SMDK, but none that gives me the exact
information I need. About the scan type, I have found three different
scan types, basing on the ScanWedge application : Unidirectional, Open
Always and Cyclone. By this application it is really simple to
configure the scanner, but I would like to do the same but in my code.
The SMDK does provide a Scan Type property, but does not seem to tell
anywhere how to use it.
Also, I've spoken to a Symbol technician who told me that there is a
way to put the scanner in a "sleep" mode. It that particular mode, the
scanner isn't treating any barcode, but if something move in front of
the scanner window, it wakes up the scanner, and by that time you can
handle the event to do whatever action. I was wondering if it is also
possible to manage the "sleep" mode via programming?
Thanks in advance for all the informations you could give me...
