VS80sp1-KB926601-X86-ENU.exe is the correct
Service Pack 1 download for VS 2005 Professional.
That download installs Service Pack 1 for VS 2005 Standard, Professional, and Team Editions.

Installing VS2005 SP1 is your option.
Clear out as much space as you can, and try again.
But you won't get what you want until you get it installed.

I have VS 2005 professional. Here is the version info:
Microsoft Visual Studio 2005
Version 8.0.50727.762 (SP .050727-7600)
© 2005 Microsoft Corporation.
All rights reserved.
When I try to create a new project, I don't have a web application
project option. In the New Project window, I select Visual C# under
Project types, and on the right side, I only have the following
installed templates:
Windows Application
Windows Control Library
Crystal Reports Application
Class Library
Console Application
WindowsApplication
See? There is no web application project.
I am aware that I need to install some service pack. So, I downloaded
the
Microsoft® Visual Studio® 2005 Team Suite Service Pack 1
from
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/asp.net/aa336618.aspx
The downloaded file is
VS80sp1-KB926601-X86-ENU.exe
and it has 442035KB in size.
I tried twice to install it, but it takes forever, and failed in the
end, saying that the setup failed to create a temp folder because I
have limited space on my C drive. Well, I just checked I still have
2.4G free space on my C drive, isn't this big enough?
Is there any shortcut/easier way to get web application project
support for VS2005?
Thanks.
Thank you. Is the one I downloaded (Visual Studio® 2005 Team Suite
Service Pack 1) the correct service pack? It has 442M bytes. Thanks a
lot.
