Windows Advanced Server 2000 and IIS 5 - posting new builds

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

We're having several ASP.NET applications working on the same Web Server. Is
it safe to post a new build of one of the applications and rewrite the
Web.Config file inside the folder belonging to this app to restart this and
only this app? Or the whole IIS should be restarted to avoid some hidden
dependencies? I heard that this version of IIS uses the same process space
for all .NET apps. Is that true, how serious is that, what are limitations,
and where can I read about that in detail? Is it a big difference of using
..NET 1.1 and 2.0? I saw on the Internet that I can safely unload one
AppDomain leaving all others running. Just want to be sure.

Just D.
