I do believe it's the control.
How about posting its source code?
Otherwise you might try again with an even more basic hello world control to
simplify the scenario and help narrow down the problem.

I've built a control that I need to load into the Visual Studio 2003
toolbox.
When I do I get the following error popup:
"Insufficient state to deserialize the object. More information is needed"
I don't believe it is the control it is a pretty simple control actually.
Nevertheless, can someone tell me what this error means and possible ways
to
correct it?
