i googled, and checked symantec, mcafee, etc. no one else seemd to have this
problem.

nobody home at that website. tucows registrar, its own dns.

haven't run the windows update yet. i tend to wait a few days before i run
ms's updates.

nothing weird in my .vbproj. no addins.

i'm puzzled!
