Grouping in a checkboxlist

I have a list of items, and each item has a group it belongs to.
The groups are created and set by the user, so we have no way to know how
many there are at design time.

What I want to do is have a checkbox list ordered by group (not hard, just
order the data into the checkboxlist), but I want to have a little header
for each group, saying what kind it is.

Is there a way to do this with a checkboxlist, or do I need to do, like a
datalist of checkboxlists or some crazy thing?
