Determining native database data type?

Hi all,

I'm trying to write an application which will examine a table and
create stored procedures for modifying the table.

I was wondering if ADO.net provides a way to get the native type on the
database side.. for example a string containing varchar, char,
uniqueidentifier, etc.

Thanks
Andy
