the article located at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;q319998 claims that
the nasty memory leak when selecting from an open Excel file can be avoided
by doing a select into another work***. I have tried this in both C++ and
VB.Net (ado and ado.net), and the memory leak still occurs. Interestingly,
the memory leak is shifted from being in the Excel process to being within
the application process. Any ideas on how this could be avoided?
