The patterns & practices group is primarily focused on helping customers
using today's technology. That said, we are also commited to evolving the
application blocks as the platform evolves, and we consider upcoming
platform changes when designing the blocks. In general we expect to migrate
the application blocks to new platforms with minimal changes, but at times
there may be a reason to change or discontinue blocks if the new platform
requires a new approach.
If anyone has any feedback on whether you would prefer us to strive for more
backward compatibility, or to take more advantage of a new platform's
