Do you know for sure that that is the reason or are you guessing? Can you provide documentation that says that?

He'd not guessing; it's been discussed on this group many times.

Everything I remember reading in the SDK documentation and other reliable sources say that it is a security issue.

That's right, it's also a common sense issue.
