My apologies on the length of time before responding to this.
The reason why I want to do this is because I want to serve up different
pages based on who the user is. For example, if a member of IT logs into
our intranet page, it would display tools specific to the task he requires.
If a member of Accounts Receivable logs in, she should get a list of charts
and data that pertain to her job. We could force a login, but users tend
to get cranky when they have to double-authenticate (once thru NT-
challenge, and once thru a webpage login).
Also, some users will be coming from outside the domain, and not even have
domain access... this includes sales reps, liaisons from other companies,
etc. I don't want to have to make special-instance logins for people who
will most likely only be using it to access one or two pages on our system.
