Can you elaborate as to what versions you are running and the network
configuration - specifically the IIS details and the authentication
method used, and what data you were able to retrieve? I'm assuming your
IIS is not running on a domain controller.

If you can "get data from a remote server" as an anonymous user then
that would be extremely worrying! In some configurations you'd be able
to get data, but not set it. WBEM implies being able to "manage the
enterprise from a web browser". In most cases this is not possible
without using Kerberos delegation because of double hop authentication
problems. Kerberos delegation is NOT a default, and few NetAdmins would
want it running on IIS.
