Hello,

Don't you have another workstation? You could connect the
harddisk to the other one as slave and copy all wanted
data to it. And afterwards, just format the disk and
reinstall the software. This could eventually infect the
other one too so....

hope this helps,
paisher

>I have windows XP Professional on a Gateway Notebook. I
caught the win32.netskyD virus and now when i try and
restart the computer windows won't open i get error
messages like "Userinit Logon Application has encountered
a problem and needs to close" this happens when windows
would normally start. The screen shows my background and
has a cursor but nothing else. I tried pressing ctrl.
alt. delete and I get an error message "Windows task
manager has encountered a problem and needs to close". So
then I tried starting the computer with the system disk
and it does nothing. The computer won't read a disk. I
went through the bios and made sure it would run from a
disk and it still does nothing. So then I tried starting
the computer in safe mode which does exactly the same
thing as normal mode. I also tried VGA mode, Safe mode w/
command prompt, Last known good configuration, and Safe
mode w/ networking. None of these things had different
results. My computer is under warranty and Gateway said
that this is too technical of a problem and they would
have to charge me an arm and a leg to help me. Please
help I need this computer to work because all of the saved
documents and other stuff is vital to my business and took
months to do.
