It should work. You must have missed some tiny thing.
Listing that part of your source code out would be more helpful.
Does your hookproc exists in the same module you call the getopenfilename?

how was can make use the hook procedure we are passing to the common
OPENFILNAME structure for common dialog? I tried to work it out by
specifying the flag OFN_ENABLEHOOK and hook function but dint get any
callbacks for any kind of events in the FileDialog. It would be
helpful if somebody could put some light on this
