Hi Phillip, thanks a lot for your reply. As a matter of fact just
before reading it I did exactly what you said I should: don't update
every time. I used the ((i % 100) == 0) as well, worked like a charm.

I still haven't figured out why the loop gets slower every time. It
doesn't happen now that progress updates are not to often. Anyway I
can't spend time on that at the moment...
